The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival in Colne, Lancashire is set to return in 2021, with tickets now available online via the festival website, via this link:
The majority of the artists and bands who were booked to play the 2020 festival including headliners – Band Of Friends, Davy Knowles, Kyla Brox, Layla Zoe, Mike Farris & His Band, Xander & The Peace Pirates – will now play the 2021 event.
Last summer’s festival (August 2019), which was the 30th Anniversary of the festival, won the much-coveted UKBlues Award for the Best Blues Based Festival Of The Year. The event in 2019 was astonishingly good, and was enjoyed by thousands of visitors from across the UK and Europe, as well as being a much-loved event for people of the local area.
The festival continues to go from strength-to-strength. Here’s just some of the love the event received last year:
“Biggest, busiest and best blues festival ever!”
“Best it’s been for years!! Truly Terrific!!”
“The whole street atmosphere is wonderful with busker tents up and down Albert Road . Awesome weekend. Great music with something for everyone”
“It was bloody amazing! Well done to everyone”
“Had an absolutely awesome time loved every minute! Fab bands, brilliant pop-up tents for artists and the atmosphere of the whole town was wonderful.”
“Best blues ever for me!”
“So many genuine music lovers out and about”
“The 30th anniversary festival went down a storm. I can’t remember seeing the town as packed as it was on Sunday night. Congratulations, what an atmosphere and success”
“Take a bow everyone, Colne is the biz.”
The event organisers hope that by putting the Summer 2021 tickets on sale, this will help to symbolise the positivity surrounding the prestigious event. Councillor Mary Thomas, Chairman of Colne Town Council (the Council have organised and managed the festival since 2017) explains further “The event, in many ways, is the jewel in the crown of, not only Colne’s event calendar, but also of the UK Blues Festival calendar. The festival attracts thousands of people to Colne each August. It brings the streets and venues alive with music and good times. Colne Town Council were heartbroken to cancel the 2020 festival but it was the sensible and responsible decision to make. Let’s add the Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival 2021 to the list of things people can look forward to in a brighter future”.
