SPIDS
Speed Indicator Devices (SPIDs) are used across Colne and the surrounding areas. They are deployed temporarily on roads where Councillors and residents feel speeding is an issue.
The Speed Indicator Devices (SPIDs) are signs that display a vehcile’s speed to encourage drivers to slow down, they also collect data to show what speed drivers are driving and the time frames that people are speeding more frequently. This data is shared with the relevant authorities to assist with catching anyone continually driving about the speed limits.
SPIDs have previously been deployed at:
- Shaw Street, ColneĀ
- Skipton Road, ColneĀ
- Keighley Road, Laneshawbridge
For more information on SPIDs and their locations please contact the Town Clerk on 01282 861888 or alternatively email her at [email protected]
