Colne’s Christmas Light Switch On returns on Saturday 30th November to kick start the festivities in Colne, we have a fantastic day planned with a wide variety of FREE family friendly entertainment, with something for everyone to enjoy!
The event will consist of a brilliant line up of festive fun including a FREE Face Painting, FREE Donkey Rides, FREE Giant Snow Globe, FREE Punch & Judy Shows, FREE Santa’s Grotto, FREE Comedy Magic Shows, FREE Rodeo Reindeer, FREE Christmas Peep-board, FREE Balloon Modelling, FREE Reindeer Town Trail, FREE Snowboard Simulator, FREE Performance from the Lord Street Primary School Choir, FREE Letter Writing to Santa, FREE visit from the Grinch & Cindy Lou, FREE visit from the Christmas Fairies, Children’s Fun Fair Rides, HUGE Christmas Market & so much more!
We also have a super array of entertainment, live on stage from 12pm including Encore Dance School, Accrington Pipe Band, Pendle Academy of Dance & Performing Arts, Live Music from Andrew Gilmour and Claudia Thompson, Mischievous Elf Show, Stage Door Youth Theatre, Pendle Hippodrome Youth Theatre & The Interactive Grinch Show, all hosted by the one and only Gavin Young! The event will also see the return of our torch lit procession lead by Santa in his sleigh all followed by the ultimate festive finale live on stage with a Frozen Sing-along before we are joined by 2 very special guests, Jack Rhodes (BGT 2024 Runner Up) & Antony Cotton (Sean from Coronation Street).
Antony Cotton, best known for his role as the loveable character Sean Tully from Coronation Street has also featured on Family Fortunes, Who Wants to be a Millionaire as well as the eleventh series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Having captured the hearts of the nation with his sense of humour and down to earth personality, Antony remains one of TV’s best loved soap stars and we can’t wait to welcome him!
In addition, we are also looking forward to welcoming the fabulous Magician Jack Rhodes who was the runner up on the 2024 Britain’s Got Talent. Jack is the northern working class every-man and not exactly your typical ‘magician’. With over 150 million views across social media, he has firmly established his presence as a magician who doesn’t take himself too seriously. We cannot wait for Jack to join us with his unmissable stage show!

To allow for all this festive fun to take place, we have to put a road closure in place to accommodate the variety of entertainment, the Christmas Market and so much more! The road will be closed from Friday 29th November at 8pm until 11pm on Saturday 30th November from the junction of Windy Bank & Market Street down to the traffic lights on Market Street.
We will also have a rolling road closure in place from 5pm on Saturday 30th November from the Crown Hotel (on Albert Road) up to St Bartholomew’s Church to allow for the torch lit procession to take place.
