She attends the New Life Christian Centre and helps out with their Youth Group. She is part of the Colne in Bloom team and is a trustee of the Millennium Green. Busy Alice somehow also finds time to attend meetings of the Colne Neighbourhood Plan and the Colne Community Safety Partnership. She is Division Commissioner for Girlguiding in Pendle and is the leader of 6thColne Holy Trinity Guides.
She said: “I am concerned about the effect empty properties have on Waterside and hope these can be reduced. I want to ensure there are lots of activities for young people to do in Colne.”
Cllr Jamie Hargreaves is the manager of The Union Exchange, having previously worked at other Colne pubs. He runs karaoke nights for adults with special needs at his pub and comes from a large Colne family. “We’re all concerned by things that affect us all, like potholes”, commented Jamie, “but my new role allows me to see that day and night-time Colne are very different entities. I therefore hope to focus on events, creating things for younger Colners to do.”
