THE WEATHER was not kind for the Town Council’s Summer Food and Music Festival in Colne last Saturday, but rain did not dampen the spirits of those who attended.

The Town Council’s Events Manager, Naomi Crewe said: “Colne was still buzzing with people and we’ve had lots of compliments from those who attended, as well as from shopkeepers and traders. Lots of families were out, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying all the free entertainment. Whatever the weather, our Food Festivals are putting Colne on the map!”

The featured bands ranged from traditional Brass, to Blues, Samba and even Ceilidh and they didn’t just play the main stage, performers roamed the town and played to pockets of people all day.

The next big Town Council Event is the Colne Cycle Grand Prix on the evening of 26th July and the next Food Festival is combined into Colne’s big Christmas event on 25th November.
