Yesterday, Treasure our Town Councillors once again joined forces with the great Pick Up for Pendle team and spent an hour picking up litter from David Fishwick’s to the Commercial and Union.
We retrieved HUNDREDS of cigarette butts, as well as bottles, cans and general litter. We didn’t just do the main road, we did the side streets too. We noted down defects and things that need repairing and improving as we went. This is the third year we have walked this area (the first with Pick Up for Pendle) and the improvement from the first year was marked, which was very gratifying.
Many thanks to Victoria Fletcher, a member of the public, who saw us out working, parked her car and dashed to join in! We chatted to residents who were grateful for our efforts, which was lovely to hear.
Next month, we at meeting at Matalan at 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 18th July – all are welcome. Let’s keep Colne Bonnie!”
