Background
Colne Town Council has responsibility for delivery of Town Centre CCTV, Children’s Playgrounds, Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs), Bus Shelters, Benches, Primet Community Centre, Colne Town Hall and Annex, 5 retail units and more recently, the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival. All of this is on top of the management of an active and geographically dispersed Allotment portfolio and an already very active events programme, including the Colne Cycle Grand Prix, Seasonal Festivals, Markets and Hallowe’en events and occasional local markets.
The Post
The Events and Administration Assistant (EAA) of Colne Town Council is responsible for all aspects of organising and managing Colne Town Council events and assisting with the day-to-day administration of the Town Council Office.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record in events management and administration, will be highly literate and numerate and have good IT skills. As the first point of contact for visitors, they will possess superb communication skills, an excellent telephone manner and be able to efficiently manage diaries and prioritise tasks.
