Ash on Tour with the JudgesCOLNE has made it into the Final of the Great British High Street Awards and members of the public can vote every single day from each individual address until 13th November via this link.

Three Colne Town Councillors have spearheaded Colne’s bid for the title. Cllr. Ash Sutcliffe and Cllr. Sarah Cockburn-Price worked with Pendle Council’s Paul Collins to write and compile the bid which shone among the 230 entries submitted. Both councillors then appeared in a film to impress the judges along with Colne in Bloom supremo, Cllr. Dorothy Lord. You can watch the film here

On judging day, on Tuesday, the judges were escorted round Colne by Cllr. Sutcliffe, who is the proprietor of Live Like the Boy, a vintage and interiors shop on Church Street and Sandra Fernandeze, who owns Pendle Belles on the High Street.

Currently, Colne is lying third in terms of public votes cast and councillors are urging Colners to vote every day, because the public vote accounts for 50% of the marks. “If Colne were to win, and the competition is stiff, the benefits would be massive”, said Cllr. Cockburn-Price. “There is not only a cash prize, plus the attention we would garner, but Colne would also attract consultancy help to boost our Bonnie Market Town further.”
