Colne Town Council’s Neighbourhood Plan consultation on its draft Design Code held its first Zoom session
yesterday.
The Design Codes will influence all new development in Colne. The second one is scheduled for
16th February between 6-8pm and you can e-mail [email protected] for a link to be sent to
you.
Chairman of the Neighbourhood Plan Advisory Committee, Cllr. Sarah Cockburn-Price, said: “Not everyone
on yesterday’s Zoom realised they could read the whole design code document on our website. You can
download it off the banner on our Home Page. Here is a direct link: https://colnetowncouncil.org.uk/ctc/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Colne_Design_Code_Final-Draft-Report-RevH.pdf
In addition, from today, until the end of the consultation, which closes on 19th February, residents and
businesses can inspect the draft Design Code document in the Town Hall, which is open from 10am until 4
pm. There is also a special session hosted at the Town Hall on Wednesday 9th February between 10am
until noon (01282 861888 to book). At this session, residents and businesses can meet the team behind
the Neighbourhood Plan and ask questions.
“Colne Town Council is working on a simple, online survey which will be launched soon on the draft Design
Code and given this is grass roots planning, we want as many people as possible to support us”, explained
Cllr. Cockburn-Price. “All responses will be shared with the Planning Inspector later in the year. There is
no getting away from it, this is a hefty document. However, we have packed it full of pictures of Colne, so
points made are clearly illustrated and there is a logical flow. Our survey is segmented to follow the Design
Codes as laid out, so we welcome part completed surveys.”
