It is with heaviness in our hearts that we announce that after much deliberation and taking into consideration the Governments recent advice, Colne Town Council has chosen to cancel our Christmas in Colne event for 2020. It isn’t a decision that we have taken likely but with the new restrictions and guidelines for Lancashire we have been left with no other option.
To still bring some festivity to Colne, we have decided to turn the Christmas lights on earlier than planned and the lights shall be turned on from the 20th November 2020.
Chairman of Colne Town Council, Mary Thomas has said: ‘With the new restrictions and guidelines in Lancashire, it wouldn’t be appropriate to go ahead with the event. We have to put the safety of the people of Colne first which is why the event has unfortunately been cancelled.’
The Council are hopeful we can get back to our unmissable events schedule for the whole of 2021. We are in the process of contacting all the performers, venues and traders with further information and please bear with us at this time.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Colne Town Council office either by phone on 01282 861888 or via email to [email protected].
We would like to thank all those involved with these events for their ongoing support.
