Colne Town Council’s ever popular Christmas in Colne Event is on Saturday 25th November and will be the conclusion of an exciting year of events.

Cllr Ash Sutcliffe, Chairman of Colne Town Council’s Events Committee said: “We have found that the formula for this event works, so we haven’t tinkered with it – there is still free live music, free entertainment and the Christmas Festival operating throughout the day. The whole thing culminates with our Torch Lit Parade, which starts from The Crown Hotel at 5.30 pm, signalling the Christmas Lights Switch On, a Carol Service St. Bart’s, more carols in Hartley Square with the Pendle Community Orchestra, and a show from Helen Green’s Dancing School and the fabulous fireworks at 7 pm. We still have a couple of surprises up our sleeve too…

The plan for the day is:-

10am-7pm Festive Market
10am – 4pm FREE face Painting at Beautiful You in Colne Market Hall
10am – 1pm FREE Craft activities in Colne Library
11am – 3pm Oakenhoof Clog dancers performing around the Colne Town Centre
11am-1pm Darwen Brass Band performing under the Market Canopy
12(noon) – 4.30pm – FREE Donkey rides by Colne Library

This amazing festive event also includes a road closure from Windy Bank to the junction of Keighley Road and Craddock Road from 8am until 10pm and a rolling road closure as the parade moves up Albert Road.

Cllr Paul Foxley, Chairman of Colne Town Council, commented: “2017 has seen Colne Town Council support the town centre by delivering a range of events throughout the year including of course taking on the challenge to keep the Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival going. It has been an energetic year of activity all aimed at continuing to raise the profile of Colne, and in doing so, not only support local business, but also provide great events for Colners’ to continue to enjoy.
